The Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development is a scientific center at the University of Zurich focused on youth development. The Center is a joint venture between the University of Zurich and the Jacobs Foundation.
We are dedicated to interdisciplinary, developmental research that will ultimately improve the lives of young people. Our primary faculty come from the fields of economics, psychology, and sociology. We also collaborate with scientists from additional disciplines in our efforts to best understand the first decades of life. The Center features several major areas of inquiry including Social Genomics, Risk and Resilience, Health Economics, and Education Economics. We are also home to several large, ongoing longitudinal studies of Swiss adolescents, including z-proso and COCON. We are devoted to opportunities for training and exchange for young and established scientists. Each semester, we host a research seminar series and a stimulating mix of interdisciplinary workshops, summer schools, small scientific conferences, and visiting scholars.
Our Center is also a vibrant workplace.
