Workshop on Cross-Species Comparisons in the Study of Human Development

Prof. Mike Shanahan recently organized an interdisciplinary workshop that examined conceptual models and empirical approaches to the study of development using cross-species comparisons. Topics of interest included social status, early trauma, curiosity, and aggressive behaviors. Across topics, discussion considered questions about assessments of behaviors, the social/physical environmental cues that organisms are sensitive and responsive to, and the sensory pathways and neurocircuits involved in transducing information.
