Caroline Chuard is a PhD student at the Department of Economics at the University of Zurich. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Business and Economics and her Master of Science in Business and Economics from the University of Zurich. Since 2014, Caroline is enrolled as a PhD student and joined the Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development in 2017. Her research interests include health, labor and education economics. In particular, Caroline analyses in her doctoral work the causal effect of maternal labor force participation on newborn health. She is furthermore interested in studying the effects of parental job loss on child development. The interplay of parental labor market experiences and child development are therefore at the core of her research agenda.
