Ulf Zölitz ist Professor des Instituts für Volkswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Zürich sowie am Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development. Er studierte Volkswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Bonn und erwarb seinen Doktortitel an der Maastricht Universität in 2014. Von 2014 bis 2017 arbeitete er als Postdoktorand am Institut für Zukunft und Arbeit (IZA), und am Institute on Behavior and Equality (briq) in Bonn.

Ulf Zölitz’ bevorzugtes Forschungsgebiet ist die angewandte Mikroökonomik. Er interessiert sich für die Arbeitsmarktökonomik, die Bildungsökonomik sowie die Verhaltensökonomik. Seine gegenwärtige Forschung konzentriert sich auf Peer-Effekte, die Rolle des Charakters in der Bildung sowie Massnahmen zur besseren Entwicklung von kognitiven Fähigkeiten bei Kindern.
