Kaspar Burger

Kaspar Burger, Prof. Dr.

Kaspar Burger has been an SNSF Eccellenza Professor at the Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development and the Institute of Sociology since 2020. He is also an Honorary Professor at the Institute of Education, University College London. He studied psychology at the Universities of Zurich and Rouen and received his PhD in educational science from the University of Fribourg in 2012. He was a research fellow at Sorbonne University Paris and at the University of Maryland College Park and a senior research scientist at the University of Geneva. Before joining the University of Zurich, he was a Marie Skłodowska Curie Research Fellow at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and at University College London.

Research

He conducts interdisciplinary research at the intersection of education, sociology and psychology. His main research interests include sociology of education, educational psychology, life course research and children’s rights studies.
